The plot is on the edge of a densely populated neighbourhood on the outskirts of the La Laguna/Santa Cruz de Tenerife conurbation.
The project’s main objective is reflected in the typological relation of the residential units and their system of patios, which have been placed at right angles to the existing streets; these patios can be understood as elements for promoting urban relation and integration between residents, while facilitating the connections between adjoining streets.
The patios that crisscross the spaces between the buildings can be seen as spatial units with their own identity; they unite the interior façades with those on the exterior, and virtually extend the public area into the buildings through the folds in the façades in the entrance areas.
